Accreditation and recognition
IACS certificates and credentials are issued by the Institute itself. No program is yet accredited by a university or an outside accreditation body. This page explains what each document means and how to check one, and it lists every outside review as it is completed.
What the Institute issues
A course certificate shows that a person completed a program and took part in its exercises. A credential, such as Friction Analyst (FA), shows that a person passed an Institute assessment at a stated level; the Academy page sets out the seven levels. Every credential carries a number that anyone can check on the public register.
Outside review
Outside review means that an independent body has examined a program against its own criteria. The Institute is preparing applications for independent course accreditation. When one is granted, it will be listed here with the name of the body, the programs it covers and the date. Until then, no IACS program is described as accredited.
| Body | What it covers | Status |
|---|---|---|
| None yet | Not applicable | Applications in preparation, November 2026 |
What the Institute will not do
- Describe a program as accredited before an outside body has granted it.
- Use another organization's name or mark without its written permission.
- Issue a credential without an assessment.
Checking an IACS credential
Enter the number printed on the certificate on the Verify page. A number that is not on the register was not issued by the Institute. Employers and partners can write to ahmad.samir@appliedcxscience.com with any question about what a credential assessed; every question is answered in writing.
The Institute is an independent private body. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by ISO or any national standards or accreditation authority. Page first dated 3 November 2026.
